Description

A quick and delicious Eggo® Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich featuring crispy waffles, a savory sausage patty, a perfectly cooked egg, and melted cheese. Perfect for a satisfying breakfast or brunch in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Sandwich Components

  • 2 Eggo® waffles (any variety)
  • 1 sausage patty (cooked)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 slice of cheese (cheddar, American, or your choice)
  • Butter or cooking spray (for cooking the egg)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Waffles: Toast the Eggo® waffles according to the package instructions until they are golden brown and crispy to form the sandwich buns.
  2. Cook the Egg: Heat a small skillet over medium heat and add a little butter or cooking spray. Crack the egg into the skillet and cook it to your preferred doneness—sunny-side up, over-easy, or scrambled. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on the egg to allow it to melt beautifully.
  3. Cook the Sausage: If using a pre-cooked sausage patty, heat it in the microwave or skillet until warmed through. If the sausage patty is raw, cook it thoroughly in a skillet following the package instructions until it reaches a safe internal temperature.
  4. Assemble the Sandwich: On one toasted Eggo® waffle, layer the cooked sausage patty, followed by the egg with melted cheese. Top with the second toasted Eggo® waffle to complete the sandwich.
  5. Serve: Enjoy your hot Eggo® sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich immediately. Enhance the flavor with optional toppings such as hot sauce, ketchup, or avocado if desired.

Notes

  • You can choose any variety of Eggo® waffles, such as original, buttermilk, or homestyle, based on your preference.
  • Customize the cheese slice with your favorite type like cheddar, American, or pepper jack for added flavor.
  • Cooking the egg to your liking allows you to tailor the sandwich to your taste—try scrambled for a different texture.
  • This sandwich can easily be doubled or tripled for more servings.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute Eggo® waffles with gluten-free waffles.
