Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Seasoning
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
Wrap and Filling
- 4 (10-inch) flour tortillas
- 4 slices American cheese
- 16 sliced pickles
Condiments and Finishing
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon melted butter (plus extra for brushing)
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a large pan over medium heat, add the ground beef along with salt, ground black pepper, and garlic powder. Cook the beef until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Once done, set the beef aside.
- Prepare Tortillas: Place the flour tortillas on a microwave-safe plate and cover them with a damp paper towel. Microwave for about 20-30 seconds to soften the tortillas, making them easier to roll without cracking. Spread one tablespoon of mayonnaise and one tablespoon of ketchup evenly across each tortilla.
- Assemble Wraps: On each tortilla, layer four slices of pickles, one slice of American cheese, and an equal portion of the cooked ground beef. Carefully roll each tortilla like a burrito, ensuring the fillings are enclosed. Brush the outside of each wrap generously with melted butter to help achieve a golden finish during air frying.
- Air Fry: Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (188°C). Place the assembled wraps seam side down in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Cook for 6-8 minutes or until the wraps are golden brown and crispy on the outside. Optionally, brush more melted butter on the wraps halfway through cooking for extra richness.
- Serve: Once cooked, carefully remove the wraps and let them cool slightly. Optionally, cut each wrap in half for easier eating. Serve warm and enjoy your crispy air fryer cheeseburger wraps.
Notes
- Use a damp paper towel when microwaving tortillas to prevent them from drying out and cracking.
- Adjust seasoning of the ground beef to taste; adding onions or other spices can enhance flavor.
- If you prefer, swap American cheese for cheddar or your favorite melty cheese.
- Be careful when brushing butter on the wraps before air frying to avoid sogginess; less is often more.
- These wraps are best eaten immediately for optimal crispness but can be reheated in the air fryer.
