Ingredients
Scale
Oats Mixture
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
Fruit and Toppings
- 1/2 cup mixed fresh or frozen berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 1 tablespoon sliced almonds or chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Mix Ingredients: In a medium bowl or jar, combine the oats, almond milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, honey, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Add Berries: Gently fold in the mixed berries to distribute them evenly without breaking them apart.
- Refrigerate: Cover the mixture and refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours to allow the oats to absorb the liquid and soften.
- Serve: In the morning, stir the oats to mix everything evenly. Top with additional berries and nuts if desired. Enjoy the oats cold or warm them briefly in the microwave if you prefer.
Notes
- You can use any combination of berries, fresh or frozen, according to your preference and availability.
- For a vegan version, substitute Greek yogurt with plant-based yogurt and replace honey with maple syrup.
- Add a scoop of protein powder to the mix prior to refrigerating for an extra protein boost.
- If you like your oats less thick, add a splash of milk in the morning to loosen the consistency.
