Description

These adorable carrot chocolate covered strawberries are a fun and festive treat perfect for springtime celebrations or Easter. Fresh strawberries are dipped in smooth, melted orange chocolate and decorated with green chocolate ‘carrot tops’ to resemble cute little carrots. This easy no-bake recipe is perfect for impressing guests or delighting kids with a healthy yet indulgent snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Strawberries

  • 2 lbs. fresh strawberries, rinsed and dried

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 (12 oz.) bag of orange chocolate melts (Wilton or preferred brand)

Decoration Tools

  • Wax paper
  • Candy squeeze tube or zip-tight bag with a small snip in the corner

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberries: Gently rinse the strawberries under cool water and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels to ensure no moisture remains, which helps the chocolate adhere better.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Place the orange chocolate melts into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth according to the package instructions.
  3. Dip the Strawberries: Hold each strawberry by the green leaves and dip it fully into the melted orange chocolate. Allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl for even coating.
  4. Shape the Carrot Tops: Set the dipped strawberries on wax paper and allow the chocolate to set slightly but still tacky. Using a candy squeeze tube or a zip-tight bag with a small corner cut off, pipe green chocolate designs resembling carrot tops onto each strawberry.
  5. Let Them Set: Allow the chocolate to fully harden at room temperature or place the strawberries in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes to speed up setting before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing.
  • If you do not have orange chocolate melts, white chocolate can be tinted with orange candy coloring.
  • Use good quality chocolate melts for the smoothest coating and best taste.
  • Store finished strawberries in a single layer in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days for best freshness.
